The client went on to say “I don’t know why it took this long to make the connection that food provides energy. I was trying to workout after not eating all day, and of course I couldn’t do much. Now that I’m eating more, I actually feel like I can do things again, not just exercise. I'm being careful with that, but like other things.”
It feels like it’s a no brainer understanding that food is fuel. Feels like common sense right? But it’s one of the most common revelations I hear from folks when they start to increase their intake. Try to notice the shift in your mental and physical energy when you eat adequately vs when you are restricting. Notice how different it feels when we commit to nourishing rather than depriving.
